Know before you go!
When walking out on the bluff, take a few minutes, and watch for signs of rip currents and other dangers in the water. Surfers should be cautious of the strong rip current pulling out to sea along the jetty. To avoid the rip current along the jetty, we recommend staying about 50 yards south of the jetty, especially for non-experienced surfers. The current is known to pull north and south along the beach, so keep an eye on your positioning. And remember, if in doubt, don't go out!
